Full job description
WHO WE ARE
The Desire Company has built the world’s only community of experts who tell the truth about the products they actually use and trust — in the form of honest video product reviews.
Our experts aren’t influencers. They’re professionals: Lady Gaga’s dance captain, Pink’s makeup artist, Rihanna’s backup dancer, Jennifer Aniston’s Pilates teacher, Charlize Theron’s stylist, NFL players, top chefs, and artists. They share real expertise through reviews, how-tos, and classes — because people deserve to be informed, not influenced.
We work with some of the world’s biggest brands and retailers to change how shoppers get the information they need to buy with confidence. We’re remote, distributed across states, and growing our team through 2026. If you’ve wondered what a startup looks like in its best phase — smart, kind, ambitious people moving fast on something that actually matters — this is it.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We’re looking for a seller to open and close enterprise brand partnerships — someone who can work both sides of the modern retail ecosystem: brand marketing teams who own awareness and content budgets, and retail media teams who own commerce and shopper marketing spend.
Our focus verticals are electronics, CPG, wellness, and fitness, with expansion into adjacent categories. Genuine interest in those spaces is a plus.
This is an individual contributor role for someone who is quota-motivated and thrives with autonomy. You’ll have real influence over how we build the function — but you’ll be carrying a number from day one.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Own the full cycle. Prospect, pitch, negotiate, and close six- and seven-figure partnerships with enterprise brands — from first cold outreach through signed agreement.
- Sell into both buying centers. Build relationships across brand marketing, shopper marketing, e-commerce, and retail media teams, and know which door to knock on for which budget.
- Navigate complex orgs. Map stakeholders inside large brands and their retail partners, and build the internal coalition it takes to get a deal signed.
- Land and expand. Turn first partnerships into renewals and multi-brand programs across a customer’s portfolio.
- Forecast honestly. Maintain a clean pipeline in Salesforce, run disciplined outreach cadences in Salesloft, and deliver forecasts leadership can plan against.
- Feed the machine. Bring market intelligence back to marketing, product, and content so our offering and inbound lead flow keep getting sharper.
WHAT YOU BRING
Required
- 6+ years in enterprise sales or business development at a media company, content platform, ad agency, retail media network, or commerce media business
- A track record of closing new business with large national brands or retailers — with numbers you can speak to
- Working fluency in at least one of brand marketing budgets or retail media / shopper marketing budgets, and a willingness to learn the other
- Established relationships in the brand or retail world, and the credibility to get meetings on your own name
- Comfort presenting to and negotiating with VP- and C-level decision-makers
- Demonstrated success building pipeline from scratch in a role without heavy inbound support
Nice to have
- Experience selling video, content, or creator-driven programs
- Background in electronics, wellness, fitness, beauty, or CPG categories
- Familiarity with retail media platforms (Walmart Connect, Roundel, Amazon Ads, Instacart, Criteo, or similar)
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce and Salesloft
- Early-stage or high-growth startup experience
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
- 45 days: Fluent in our story, our experts, and our proof points. Target account list built and prioritized. First outreach live and initial meetings on the calendar.
- 6 months: First partnerships closed and contributing to your number. A clear, evidence-backed point of view on which categories and buyer types convert fastest.
- 9 months: Tracking to full-year quota with a pipeline that covers the rest. A repeatable motion the next hire on the team can run.
WHY THIS ROLE
- A number you can actually hit — and blow past. Base starts at $115,000, quota is set to scale with your book, and commission is uncapped with accelerators that kick in on new business. Total earnings here aren’t capped by a plan design; they’re capped by how much you close.
- Direct access to leadership and real input on go-to-market strategy
- A genuinely differentiated product — no one else is doing expert-led video review at this scale
- Remote-first, working alongside a team that moves fast
BENEFITS
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k)
- Short-term and long-term disability coverage
- Company-paid life insurance
- Paid time off starting at two weeks, plus company holidays — with more flexibility after year one
