About Us:
Chi Renovation & Design is a fast-growing interior design and management company specializing in residential and select commercial projects across Chicago and the suburbs. We handle a wide range of renovation work, including light remodels, full gut renovations, room additions (kitchens, basements, etc.), and structural projects.
We differentiate ourselves as a one-stop shop for clients, providing design services and guiding them through every step of the renovation process. Every project operates under a single lead, or “head of project,” who is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the project and representing Chi Renovation & Design.
The Role:
As a Project Manager / Head of Project at Chi Renovation & Design, you will oversee projects from start to finish, ensuring exceptional execution, client satisfaction, and adherence to company standards. You don’t need to be an expert in every field, but you must be able to communicate and coordinate effectively with professionals such as architects, crews, and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage projects from A to Z, including day-to-day operations.
- Support Designers when they are designated as “head of project.”
- Oversee safety protocols and safety inspections on-site.
- Document and report project progress, expenses, and payments to and from CHI.
- Lead discussions and maintain clear communication with clients and crews.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors while negotiating effectively.
- Follow company guidelines for project processes and execution, applying reasonable judgment to achieve the best outcomes for clients and CHI.
- Maintain a flexible schedule while managing your time responsibly.
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of construction and home renovation processes.
- Ability to estimate costs and scope of work accurately.
- Ability to read and interpret floor plans and blueprints.
- Familiarity with City of Chicago building codes and permit requirements.
- Understanding of structural, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Keen eye for detail to inspect subcontractors’ work.
- Experience negotiating and managing project budgets.
- Proven experience working with clients and subcontractors.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Own insured vehicle.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication.
