We’re partnered with a growing manufacturing business in Oakland, CA, who are looking for an experienced EHS Manager to take ownership of their environmental, health and safety function across the production environment.


This is a great opportunity for an EHS professional who enjoys being hands-on on the plant floor, working closely with Operations and driving a genuine culture of safety and continuous improvement.


The Role

You’ll be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining EHS programmes across the manufacturing site, ensuring compliance with OSHA and Cal/OSHA requirements while supporting safe and efficient production.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead EHS audits, inspections and compliance programmes across the production facility
  • Manage incident, near-miss and injury investigations, including root-cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Identify and mitigate operational hazards across equipment, processes and production areas
  • Develop and deliver EHS training across the site
  • Support the safe introduction of new equipment, processes and production changes through risk assessments
  • Maintain EHS documentation and regulatory records
  • Work closely with Operations and other departments to drive safety improvements
  • Support regulatory inspections and OSHA/Cal-OSHA interactions
  • Help build a strong culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement
  • Track and improve site safety metrics, including TRIR


What We're Looking For

  • 3–5+ years' EHS experience within a production or manufacturing environment
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA and Cal/OSHA regulations
  • Experience conducting production-focused EHS audits and inspections
  • Strong understanding of GMP, SOP and safe working practices
  • Experience leading continuous improvement and safety initiatives
  • Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, although 4 years of relevant experience can substitute
  • Someone who is self-motivated, detail-oriented and comfortable working directly with production teams
