Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Manufacturing Supervisor to lead and coordinate production activities in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for supervising production employees, ensuring safety and quality standards are met, and driving productivity to achieve customer and operational goals.

The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with manufacturing experience, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coach, and develop production employees on 2nd shift.
  • Plan and coordinate daily production activities to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
  • Monitor labor utilization, productivity, downtime, scrap, and overall production performance.
  • Enforce safety policies, OSHA regulations, and safe work practices.
  • Track employee attendance, performance, training, and compliance with company policies.
  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and corrective action as needed.
  • Collaborate with Quality personnel to identify, contain, and resolve quality issues.
  • Communicate effectively with other shifts and management to ensure smooth shift transitions.
  • Identify and address production bottlenecks, equipment issues, material shortages, and other operational challenges.
  • Maintain accurate production, quality, and downtime documentation.
  • Support a clean, organized, and efficient work environment through 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
  • Assist with cross-training and workforce development efforts.
  • Support inventory accuracy and efficient material flow throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in a supervisory or team lead role.
  • Experience working in a unionized manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production reporting.

Skills & Competencies

  • Proficiency with ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, production documentation, and manufacturing specifications.
  • Effective communication skills with employees and leadership across all levels of the organization.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
