Manufacturing Supervisor
Mahwah, NJ - onsite 8am-4:30pm
The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all production activities, including CNC machines and assembly lines, to ensure efficient, high-quality, and on-time delivery of products. This role manages production staff, drives operational performance, and ensures alignment between manufacturing capacity and customer demand
The Manufacturing Supervisor manages all production procedures, staff, and equipment, and is expected to improve processes and increase on-time deliveries without compromising quality
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures on-time delivery and drives standard lead times to best-in-class measures without compromising quality
- Leads day-to-day manufacturing operations to meet productivity, safety, and quality goals
- Coordinates and oversees CNC machines and assembly line operations, including the use of hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment
- Responsible for utility and equipment maintenance, repair, and management
- Manages production flow, lean, and continuous improvement initiatives resulting in cost reductions, increased throughput, and efficiency while maintaining quality
- Enforces safety protocols and conducts regular safety inspections to maintain a secure working environment for all team members
- Trains and mentors production staff on equipment operation, assembly procedures, and proper use of hand and power tools
- Collaborates with the team to troubleshoot mechanical issues and ensure machinery is operating optimally
- Monitors production metrics and KPIs, prepare reports, and implements process improvements to enhance productivity and quality standards
- Partners with Design & Engineering to ensure design and production are aligned. Suggests modifications where appropriates
EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience working in a manufacturing facility or factory environment in a supervisory role
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment
- Warehouse experience, including forklift operation certification, is highly desirables
- Familiarity with factory safety protocols and OSHA regulations
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team of production workers
- Proven experience managing assembly lines, manufacturing processes, and inventory management systems
QUALIFICATIONS
- An Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field is preferred
- 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experiences
- Experience leading teams in a production environment
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principals
- Experience in assembly, packaging, custom manufacturing, or related industies
- Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
- Experience with KPIs, production metrics, and labor plan
- RP/MRP experience preferred. SOP development, process documentation, and structured operating systems (EOS/Traction a plus)
