Territory: New York City, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, Long Island, Westchester, and Jersey City

Compensation: Up to $85,000 Base Salary + Uncapped Commission (Based on Experience)

Position Overview

A growing building maintenance supply distributor is seeking an experienced Outside Sales Representative to drive business development and expand its customer base throughout the Greater New York area. This role is ideal for a motivated sales professional with experience selling plumbing, electrical, janitorial, HVAC, or other building maintenance products.

The ideal candidate has an established network within the residential property management industry and is comfortable developing new business while managing existing customer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Develop new business through cold calling, networking, referrals, and in-person prospecting.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with residential property management companies, contractors, building owners, and maintenance professionals.
• Identify customer needs and prepare accurate product quotes.
• Promote a wide range of plumbing, janitorial, electrical, and building maintenance supplies.
• Manage customer accounts from initial contact through order fulfillment.
• Coordinate material orders and work closely with the inside sales and warehouse teams to ensure timely deliveries.
• Maintain knowledge of inventory availability and recommend alternative products when necessary.
• Conduct regular customer visits to strengthen relationships and identify new sales opportunities.
• Stay informed on market trends, competitor activity, and new product offerings.
• Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales goals while delivering exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of outside sales experience within the plumbing, HVAC, electrical, janitorial, or building maintenance supply industry.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing products and related building maintenance materials.
• Existing relationships within the residential property management market are highly preferred.
• Proven success generating new business through prospecting and relationship-building.
• Experience preparing quotes, managing customer accounts, and coordinating orders.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage a large territory.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
• Bilingual Spanish is a plus, but not required.
