Senior Accountant

Korn Ferry is partnering with a client in the construction industry in their search for a Senior Accountant.

Company Overview

Our client is a private equity-backed construction services platform based in the Burbank, operating across multiple business units and delivering residential and commercial solutions

Position Summary

This is a high-impact, build-oriented role with a clear path to assistant controller. The Senior Accountant will own the full accounting cycle for one business unit, including AR/AP, reconciliations, and system integrity between operational and accounting platforms.

This is best suited for a hands-on accountant looking to grow into a leadership role within a dynamic, fast-changing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full transaction cycle: invoicing, collections, vendor payments, and AR/AP
• Ensure accuracy and synchronization between operational and accounting systems
• Execute month-end close, including bank and credit card reconciliations
• Maintain commission schedules and validate against revenue
• Review operational data (e.g., labor hours) and resolve discrepancies
• Support compliance, including insurance tracking and business license management

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online
• Experience participating in or owning month-end close
• Strong Excel skills (lookups, pivots, multi-tab models)
• Ability to work on-site full-time
• Experience in construction, field services, or job costing environments, preferred.

Onsite role 5 days a week onsite in Burbank to start.
