BHVAC is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial HVAC Service Technician / Field Service Lead to support and strengthen our growing service department.
This is a hands-on field position for an experienced commercial HVAC technician who can independently diagnose complex problems, complete repairs, supervise other technicians, and ensure that all service work meets company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Diagnose and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment
• Handle advanced and priority service calls independently
• Troubleshoot rooftop units, split systems, boilers, chillers, pumps, compressors, motors, controls, and related commercial equipment
• Provide technical guidance to technicians while they are working in the field
• Review technicians’ findings, photographs, model numbers, serial numbers, and recommended repairs
• Confirm that the correct replacement parts and materials are being requested
• Determine whether equipment should be repaired or recommended for replacement
• Inspect completed repairs and ensure work is performed properly
• Reduce callbacks, repeat visits, and incomplete diagnoses
• Train and mentor new and mid-level service technicians
• Assist with preventive-maintenance inspections and service-contract work
• Communicate technical findings clearly to the office and service department
• Submit complete service reports, equipment information, photographs, labor hours, and materials used
• Ensure technicians follow company procedures and safety requirements
• Help organize technician workloads and field priorities during busy periods
• Maintain professional communication with clients and property representatives
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 5 years of commercial HVAC service experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment, diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance
• Ability to diagnose electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, airflow, and control-system problems
• Experience working with rooftop units, compressors, motors, boilers, chillers, pumps, and commercial controls
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, equipment specifications, and technical documentation
• EPA Section 608 certification required
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to supervise, train, and support other technicians
• Must be organized, dependable, and capable of working independently
• Must provide detailed and accurate service documentation
• Must maintain a professional appearance and attitude when working with clients

This person should be confident handling difficult service calls, helping other technicians troubleshoot problems, reviewing repair recommendations, and maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
