Sr Payroll Specialist

CBIZ Talent Solutions is partnering with our valued client, located in the greater Melville area, in their search for a qualified Senior Payroll Specialist.

Join a growing organization where you'll play a key role in managing complex multi-state union and non-union payroll operations. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with leadership while ensuring payroll accuracy, compliance, and exceptional employee support.

Key Responsibilities

• Process weekly union and non-union payroll across multiple states.
• Review payroll data for accuracy, including timecards, pay rates, taxes, deductions, and union classifications.
• Resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries.
• Process payroll taxes and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Prepare certified payroll reports, W-2s, and payroll-related reporting.
• Coordinate union payroll audits and related documentation.
• Administer garnishments, employment verifications, and unemployment claims.
• Support payroll process improvements and special projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of multi-state payroll experience, including union payroll.
• Construction industry payroll experience preferred.
• Experience with Vista Viewpoint and ADP (or similar payroll systems) preferred.
• Knowledge of payroll taxes, compliance, and union payroll requirements.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving ability.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with employees, management, unions, and auditors.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.

Compensation: $80K-$90K, Exempt
