System Integration & Manufacturing Test Lead
Are you ready to take on a leadership role in a fast-paced, cutting-edge environment? We are looking for a System Integration & Manufacturing Test Lead to join our team at a top consumer electronics company in Cupertino, CA. This is an opportunity to work with industry leaders and play a critical role in ensuring factory test readiness, manufacturing test execution, and product quality for world-class consumer electronics products.
As a Test Lead, you will work alongside highly skilled Technical Program Managers (TPMs), engineering teams, and manufacturing partners to drive system-level and factory-level test readiness throughout the New Product Introduction (NPI) lifecycle. You will help transition products from engineering builds into manufacturing by validating test processes, supporting factory builds, troubleshooting issues on the production line, and ensuring manufacturing test requirements are met.
If you're passionate about manufacturing, hands-on problem solving, factory testing, and bringing complex products successfully into mass production, this role is for you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead factory test readiness and manufacturing test validation across all phases of product NPI, from SMT through final assembly and production ramp
- Plan, coordinate, and execute manufacturing test dry runs and build readiness activities to validate test stations, fixtures, software, hardware, processes, and test coverage prior to production builds
- Partner closely with engineering and OEM/factory teams to ensure manufacturing test requirements, test specifications, and quality criteria are clearly defined and met
- Drive test execution during NPI builds, quickly identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving factory test failures and production-line issues with minimal disruption to build schedules
- Analyze test failures and manufacturing data to identify root causes, distinguish product/design issues from test-process issues, and drive corrective actions
- Coordinate the transition of test processes from engineering environments into factory production environments, ensuring test infrastructure and processes are ready for ramp and mass production
- Create and maintain test readiness plans, schedules, issue trackers, and daily build/test reports, providing clear status and escalation updates to engineering and program leadership
- Develop strategic plans to address test gaps, manufacturing issues, and production risks, driving issues to timely resolution
- Work closely with hardware, software, systems, quality, operations, manufacturing, and supplier teams to ensure seamless execution of manufacturing test activities
- Continuously improve factory test processes, methodologies, coverage, yield, and efficiency to improve product quality and manufacturing readiness
- Ensure product test quality standards, manufacturing criteria, and NPI readiness requirements are consistently met
Minimum Qualifications
- BS or MS in Systems, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field with 3+ years of relevant industry experience in product testing, manufacturing test, or NPI
- Hands-on experience with factory testing, manufacturing test systems, or production-line test environments
- Strong understanding of system and hardware fundamentals and experience working with complex consumer electronic systems
- Experience supporting NPI builds, factory builds, production ramps, or manufacturing test readiness
- Strong failure analysis and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to quickly isolate and resolve hardware, software, fixture, and test-process issues
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead and thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Experience working through rapid New Product Development cycles and adapting to changing requirements and priorities
- Excellent communication, organizational, presentation, and leadership skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical issues clearly
- Self-motivated and proactive, with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities
- Proficient in macOS and iOS
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience working with OEM/ODM manufacturing partners and factory engineering teams to bring consumer electronics products into mass production
- Experience developing, validating, deploying, or sustaining manufacturing test systems and processes
- Experience with hardware and software test validation, including test station, fixture, automation, and test software readiness
- Experience analyzing manufacturing test data, test yields, failure trends, and production-line issues
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and coordinating test readiness across engineering, operations, quality, and international manufacturing partners
- Experience with program management and NPI execution is a plus
- Prior experience with one or more of the following technologies: Acoustics, Display, Touch, Imaging Sensors, Motion Sensors, PCBA, Power, or Battery
- Experience with embedded system integration and development
- Experience supporting SMT, PCBA, final assembly, system integration, and production ramp
