Technical Accounting Manager

Responsibilities

· Evaluate changes to Accounting Standards Codifications (ASC), SEC regulations and regulatory reporting requirements, and communicate impact on the company’s financial reporting

· Analyze, research and conclude on proposed company initiatives and completed transactions, preparing complex memorandums summarizing the impact

· Liaise closely with external auditors and counsel on technical accounting and reporting issues, building strong collaborative relationships and open, transparent communication

· Manage and review the variable interest entities (consolidations) and current expected credit losses (CECL) processes performed by other departments

· Assist in review of SEC reporting requirements and participate in disclosure committee meetings

· Lead or assist in review of potential transactions, special projects and other ad-hoc requests

· Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, documentation standards, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency

· Train and review the work of accounting team members

· Ensure SOX 404 compliance for areas of responsibility, including periodic updates to process narratives
