Applications Development Specialist

We are seeking a full-time Applications Development Specialist to join our IT Ops Development Team. This is a programming role that includes design, development, implementation, testing, documentation, maintenance, training, and help desk support of inhouse desktop applications and mobile solutions.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strengths in strategic thinking, curiosity, and critical thinking. This person should have a natural analytical way of thinking and be able to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.

Strategic Thinking: This person should aid in setting a vision for the use of technology, including identifying potential process improvement opportunities.

Curiosity: This person should be observant and able to ask critical questions to direct conversation to promote technology and solutions which improve our processes.

Critical Thinking: As this person gains experience within the company, they should be able to recognize and understand the impact that processes and technologies have across the organization.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning

Collaborates with stakeholders to document and analyze functional requirements, identify gaps, provides alternative approaches to meet requirements, and ensures all deliverables adhere to approved methodology and documentation standards

Performance

Assists in software development, evaluation, training, and support to meet user requirements

Collects feedback from users on application performance, documents and addresses critical issues

Provides input into possible solutions based on prior system knowledge and basic analytical skills

Administration

Develops and maintains accurate documentation for business processes and application configurations

Develop and test implementation project plans, prepare rollout communications, and training materials

Facilitates ongoing user feedback to validate software functionality and drive continuous improvement

Development & Maintenance

Designs, implements, and maintains Desktop solutions using Visual Studio VB.net.

Formulates tests and performs detailed testing to ensure that the solution functions correctly.

Designs, implements, and maintains Mobile Forms solutions using low-code / no-code platforms.

Requirements:

Programming: Visual Studio, VB.net, Scripting, XML

Relational MS-SQL databases: Design, Maintenance, Query, Process Flow Diagram and Data Modeling

Advanced Excel Skills: Power Query, Data Model, Pivot tables, Formulas, Lookups, Conditional Formatting

Additional Skills that would be Beneficial:

Knowledge in low code / no code mobile form solutions: DoForms, GoFormz, Google & Microsoft Forms

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills: MS Excel VBA

Actual Compensation will depend on several factors, such as location, professional experience, education, relevant training, transferable skills, organizational needs, and current market trends. Please note that the salary range is subject to future adjustments.
