Opportunity Summary

Mission Recruiting is representing a sophisticated healthcare litigation practice seeking a Healthcare Litigation Attorney with 1–4 years of litigation experience. This is a 100% remote opportunity offering a $125,000–$180,000+ base salary, depending on experience, plus substantial billable-hour bonuses.

Prior healthcare law experience is not required. The opportunity is well suited for an attorney with strong litigation fundamentals who wants to develop specialized experience handling healthcare contract disputes, provider litigation, overpayment recovery, discovery, and arbitration matters.

Southern California candidates are preferred, although candidates elsewhere within the same time zone may be considered.

Compensation

• $125,000–$180,000+ base salary, depending on experience
• $10,000 bonus at 2,000 billable hours
• Additional $10,000 for every 100 billable hours thereafter
• 1,800 annual billable-hour requirement
• Performance-based compensation increases

Location & Work Arrangement

100% Remote

Southern California candidates are preferred. Candidates elsewhere within the same time zone may also be considered.

The practice operates in a fully remote environment, so attorneys must be comfortable working independently while remaining collaborative, responsive, and engaged with the team.

The team may gather for approximately two to three annual lunches and a holiday party.

About the Opportunity

Mission Recruiting's client maintains a sophisticated healthcare-focused litigation practice handling contract disputes, provider litigation, overpayment recovery, and related matters.

This position offers an opportunity to move into healthcare litigation without arriving as a healthcare-law specialist. Attorneys can build on transferable litigation skills while developing deeper subject-matter knowledge through substantive research, discovery, claims analysis, motion practice, and arbitration preparation.

The role also offers long-term professional development, including performance-based increases and a potential path toward inheriting client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Handle healthcare-related contract disputes
• Work on provider litigation and overpayment recovery matters
• Conduct detailed claims analysis across large datasets
• Perform substantive legal research
• Draft motions, including motions to compel and motions to dismiss
• Handle extensive written discovery
• Analyze complex factual and legal issues
• Assist with arbitration preparation
• Manage a docket of 200+ active cases
• Maintain a high level of responsiveness across assigned matters
• Track and record billable time accurately
• Work independently while collaborating with attorneys and staff

Recommended Qualifications

• 1–4 years of litigation experience
• Active California Bar membership in good standing
• Strong legal research and writing skills
• Strong professional judgment
• Demonstrated dependability and work ethic
• Ability to independently manage a substantial volume of matters
• Ability to accurately track and bill time
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Ability to learn healthcare-specific subject matter

• Defense-side litigation experience
• Insurance defense experience

• Experience with complex discovery
