Opportunity Summary

Mission Recruiting is representing an established Northern California Family Law practice seeking a Senior Family Law Attorney with 7+ years of experience to handle sophisticated divorce, custody, support, and property disputes throughout the Bay Area.

This fully remote California opportunity offers a $160,000–$200,000 base salary, depending on experience, plus a discretionary bonus. The successful attorney will step into an independent litigation role handling complex, high-conflict Family Law matters while working with a collaborative and supportive team.

Court appearances, client meetings, and other in-person responsibilities are required as matters dictate.

Location & Work Arrangement

Northern California / Bay Area

Fully remote within California, with required in-person attendance for court appearances, client meetings, and other matter-specific responsibilities.

The practice regularly handles matters in Santa Clara County, Alameda County, and surrounding Bay Area courts.

About the Opportunity

Mission Recruiting's client maintains an established Family Law practice handling sophisticated and often high-conflict matters.

The practice encompasses complex divorce litigation, child custody disputes, property division, support matters, financial disputes, and negotiated settlements.

This position is designed for an experienced Family Law litigator who can immediately take ownership of a caseload, provide strategic counsel to clients, and confidently handle contested proceedings while collaborating with attorneys and support staff.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage complex Family Law litigation
• Handle high-conflict divorce and custody matters
• Lead contested hearings and courtroom appearances
• Develop case strategy from intake through resolution
• Draft and negotiate marital settlement agreements
• Handle complex financial and property disputes
• Address child and spousal support matters
• Prepare clients for hearings, depositions, negotiations, and trial
• Prepare and work with witnesses and experts
• Conduct settlement negotiations
• Supervise case workflow and collaborate with support staff
• Maintain accurate matter and case management through Clio
• Communicate directly with clients regarding strategy and case developments

Recommended Qualifications

• 7+ years of exclusive or predominantly Family Law experience
• Active membership in the California Bar
• Significant Family Law litigation experience
• Strong courtroom advocacy skills
• Strong negotiation skills
• Ability to independently manage sophisticated and high-conflict matters
• Strong client communication and case-management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Family Law trial experience
• Familiarity with Santa Clara County courts
• Familiarity with Alameda County courts and surrounding Bay Area jurisdictions
• Experience handling complex financial and property disputes
• Experience negotiating marital settlement agreements
• Experience using Clio
• Portable book of business welcomed but not required
