Plaintiff Personal Injury Attorney


Opportunity Summary

Mission Recruiting is representing an established plaintiff litigation boutique seeking a Plaintiff Personal Injury Attorney with approximately 3–10 years of litigation experience in Tustin, California.

This primarily in-office opportunity offers a $150,000–$190,000 base salary, depending on experience, plus merit, settlement, and origination compensation opportunities. There is no billable-hour requirement.

Attorneys independently manage personal injury cases from filing through settlement or trial, with substantive responsibility for depositions, motions, mediation, litigation strategy, and courtroom appearances. The practice prepares cases with trial in mind and offers first- and second-chair opportunities based on experience.

Plaintiff personal injury experience is preferred, but personal injury defense attorneys and experienced solo litigators are encouraged to apply.

About the Opportunity

Mission Recruiting's client maintains a plaintiff personal injury practice focused on thoughtful litigation and trial preparation rather than high-volume file management.

Attorneys are trusted to independently manage matters while receiving support from experienced litigation professionals. Performance is evaluated based on the quality of legal work, responsiveness, meeting deadlines, and contributing to successful case outcomes rather than generating billable hours.

The attorney will handle matters throughout the litigation lifecycle and develop case strategy with an eye toward trial. Depending on experience, attorneys may serve as first or second chair.


Responsibilities

  • Manage plaintiff personal injury litigation from filing through settlement or trial
  • Develop litigation strategy and trial themes
  • Draft pleadings and substantive motions
  • Manage written discovery
  • Take and defend depositions
  • Prepare clients, witnesses, and experts
  • Handle mediation and arbitration
  • Negotiate settlements
  • Prepare matters for trial
  • Make regular California Superior Court appearances
  • Serve as first or second chair at trial based on experience
  • Independently manage litigation deadlines and caseload responsibilities
  • Collaborate with attorneys and litigation support staff


Recommended Qualifications

  • Approximately 3–10 years of litigation experience
  • Active California Bar membership in good standing
  • Strong deposition experience
  • Strong motion practice experience
  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Ability to independently manage litigation matters
  • Strong courtroom, communication, and advocacy skills


Preferred Qualifications

  • Plaintiff personal injury litigation experience
  • Trial experience
  • Meaningful second-chair trial experience
  • Personal injury defense experience
  • Experience developing trial strategy and themes
  • Mediation and settlement experience
