About the Opportunity

Mission Recruiting's client maintains a highly specialized litigation practice representing public safety personnel in administrative investigations and related proceedings.

The successful attorney will manage matters from inception through resolution and work directly with clients navigating consequential investigations, disciplinary actions, hearings, appeals, arbitrations, and court proceedings.

The role combines independent case management with the opportunity to develop litigation strategy alongside experienced senior attorneys.

Responsibilities

• Manage cases from inception through resolution
• Represent clients in administrative investigations
• Handle disciplinary proceedings and administrative hearings
• Represent clients in Skelly hearings
• Handle civil service appeals
• Participate in arbitrations and court proceedings
• Take and defend depositions
• Handle substantive motion practice
• Analyze legal and factual issues and develop case strategy
• Work directly with clients throughout investigations and litigation
• Develop litigation strategy in collaboration with senior attorneys
• Independently manage multiple complex matters and deadlines

Recommended Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant litigation experience
• Experience with administrative proceedings
• Motion practice experience
• Experience taking or defending depositions
• Courtroom advocacy experience
• Strong legal writing and analytical skills
• Strong client communication skills
• Ability to independently manage multiple complex matters

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with experience involving administrative law, disciplinary proceedings, civil service matters, arbitration, or public-sector employment matters may be particularly well positioned for this practice.
