Mission Recruiting is representing a confidential Southern California litigation practice seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney for its Torrance or Orange County office. This position offers a diverse caseload spanning civil litigation, business disputes, liability defense, and probate and trust litigation, with a salary of $150,000–$210,000, depending on experience.

Location & Work Arrangement

Torrance or Orange County, California

This position is primarily in-office to support collaboration, mentorship, training, and integration with the litigation team.

Hybrid flexibility may become available over time based on experience, performance, and practice needs.

About the Opportunity

Mission Recruiting's client maintains a varied litigation practice encompassing traditional civil matters as well as sophisticated probate and trust disputes.

The civil litigation practice includes general liability defense, professional liability, and business disputes. The probate litigation practice includes matters involving will contests, fiduciary claims, and administration disputes.

Attorneys have the opportunity to handle substantive litigation responsibilities while working directly with clients and contributing to case strategy from discovery through trial preparation.

Responsibilities

• Handle civil and probate litigation matters
• Draft dispositive and non-dispositive motions
• Manage written discovery and document production
• Take and defend depositions
• Develop litigation and case strategy
• Work directly with clients throughout the litigation process
• Handle matters involving general and professional liability
• Litigate business and commercial disputes
• Handle probate and trust disputes, including will contests and fiduciary claims
• Participate in trial preparation and related proceedings

Recommended Qualifications

• Civil litigation experience
• Experience drafting substantive motions and legal briefs
• Experience managing written discovery
• Deposition experience
• Strong legal research and writing skills
• Strong communication and client-service skills
• Ability to manage litigation matters effectively

Preferred Qualifications

• Probate or trust litigation experience
• Experience with will contests, fiduciary claims, or administration disputes
• General liability or professional liability defense experience
• Business litigation experience
• Trial preparation experience
