The Union League Club is a private social Club providing its members and guests with a quiet sanctuary and relief from the hustle of the city. Our emphasis is on privacy, a superior culinary experience and exceptional, personalized experiences. Our clubhouse contains over 19,000 square feet of event space ranging from small private dining rooms to grand ballrooms as well as 60 overnight guest rooms. Our culinary staff has prepared meals for Presidents, Prime Ministers and Royals from around the globe. Additionally, The Club offers members and guest a robust calendar of special events and programs.

Position Description & Responsibilities:

The Union League Club is seeking a Member Events Manager. The ideal candidate will be responsible for working closely with Club Committees to create and execute unique member events that support member engagement and enriching experiences. Duties required for this position are similar to coordinating traditional themed banquet events and party planning.

Summary

This position is responsible for regular member and guest interface, all coordination, creation and administration of detailed event orders to ensure effective communication and teamwork required to successfully execute high-quality events.

Responsibilities & Requirements:

In addition to the necessary technical expertise required for this position, the individual must have a proven track record and ability to demonstrate the following:

· Assist committee members planning banquet style special events.

· Coordinate, supervise, and execute events based on members’ specifications.

· Utilize and operate electronic Club Management system (Jonas)

· Effectively and regularly communicate expectations and goals to the service team.

· Understand space utilization and balance event calendar effectively

· Communicate with Front of the House and Back of the House management and team members in the execution of banquets. Coordinate set-up, service, timing, and details for events

· Responsible for booking vendors, preparing proposals, cost estimates, contracts, menus, floor plans, invoices, etc.

· Manage and monitor event calendar to ensure all events are processed, coordinated, and communicated to all department staff

· Ensure accurate billing to member accounts for events in a timely manner

· Adherence to club governance, policies and procedures

Qualifications:

· 5+ years hospitality and event management experience

· Strong work ethic and ability to work cohesively with a team

· Professional demeanor and appearance

· Excellent communication skills with an engaging personality

· Desire to work in a fast-paced, upscale environment

· Knowledge of banquet event orders (BEO’s), F&B software and Microsoft office

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Organized with a strong attention to detail

· Flexible work hours including weekends and holidays

Education: High school diploma required, bachelor’s degree preferred
