Company Description The Sacramento Regional Builders Exchanges (SRBX) has been part of the Sacramento builder’s community for over 125 years. We are expanding our reach and have created the Southern California Builders Exchange (SoCalBX). Our members include general contractors, subcontractors and business professionals that support the building industry. Our mission is to provide our members with resources to grow their business, including our state-of-the-art planning room, promote legislation and candidates that support the growth of the construction industry, and provide educational opportunities including OSHA, safety, and many other classes to help create a safer and more productive workplace.


Role Description

Primary Role as Membership Manager:

  • Grow our membership in the SoCal region by visiting with prospective members, and on-boarding new members.
  • Ensure current members renew their annual membership.
  • Monitor and maintain member data and member renewal status, which includes confirming the accuracy of account information and data, sending out reminders for payment, monitor payments, etc.

Primary Role as Event Manager:

  • Plan, design and execute membership related networking events in the region. Events should be geared to enforcing current members in their decision to join SoCalBX, and used as a vehicle to attract new members to SoCalBX.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Membership Growth over the next 12 months is very aggressive. This role will have little direct supervision and requires an individual who is a self-starter with a desire to grow an organization.


Other responsibilities may include:

· Occasional travel to Northern California for training and networking with support staff.

Internal Relationships:

Reports to the Executive Director and includes a working relationship with the entire SRBX Staff including Accounting, Education, Events, Government Affairs and Marketing/Communications.

External Relationships:

Direct relationships with Members.

Relevant Experience:

Proficient at Microsoft Office suite including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience working with database (CRM) systems like MC Trade or SalesForce. Organizational experience and ability to work on multiple projects is critical. 2-3 years working in a non-profit, trade association or multifamily housing industry a plus. Associate degree or higher preferred.

Personal Qualities and Skills:

  • Highly motivated and results-oriented, self-starter with organizational and problem-solving skills who has a strong attention to detail. Although their is a support staff to assist in this role, they are in the Sacramento region. Therefore, the ability to work independently and drive towards specific goals as defined is critical. A working knowledge of the building industry is desirable but not essential. A focus on customer service is essential for success.
