We are seeking an experienced Foreman/Superintendent to lead and manage our on-site crews, ensuring the highest quality of work and safety.
Job Summary:
The Foreman/Superintendent will be responsible for managing daily field operations on demolition job sites, with a focus on selective demolition. This role involves leading a team of skilled laborers, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining project timelines and budgets. In addition to supervisory responsibilities, you will actively participate in manual labor alongside your crew. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of selective demolition techniques, the ability to read and comprehend construction plans, and a commitment to maintaining high safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage daily on-site operations for selective demolition projects.
- Lead and direct a crew of laborers, equipment operators, and other personnel to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
- Perform hands-on manual labor alongside the crew as needed to assist in the demolition process.
- Read and comprehend construction plans and specifications to guide demolition activities.
- Monitor and enforce safety regulations, including conducting regular safety meetings and inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Estimators, and other key stakeholders to ensure project timelines and budgets are met.
- Plan, schedule, and assign tasks to crew members based on project requirements.
- Inspect work progress and make adjustments to ensure quality control and efficiency.
- Identify and resolve any on-site issues or conflicts to maintain workflow.
- Track and report on project progress, materials usage, and equipment status.
- Ensure proper maintenance and operation of demolition equipment.
- Foster a positive, productive work environment and motivate crew members to meet performance goals.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction or demolition, with at least 2 years in a Foreman or Superintendent role.
- Strong understanding of selective demolition techniques, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
- Proven leadership abilities with a track record of successfully managing crews.
- Ability to read and comprehend construction plans and specifications.
- Willingness and ability to perform manual labor alongside the crew, including operating tools and assisting with demolition tasks.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- OSHA 30 certification (preferred) or willingness to obtain.
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions and lift/move heavy objects.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record is required
