Position Overview

A well-established building maintenance supply distributor is seeking an Inside Sales Representative to join its growing team in the Bronx. This position is ideal for someone with experience selling plumbing, janitorial, electrical, or other building maintenance products who enjoys building customer relationships and supporting contractors, property managers, and commercial clients.

Responsibilities

• Develop new business through outbound cold calling and prospecting.
• Build and maintain relationships with contractors, property managers, and commercial customers.
• Prepare quotes and follow up on sales opportunities.
• Process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Assist customers with product selection and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Coordinate inventory availability and communicate lead times.
• Place purchase orders for materials and monitor order status.
• Work closely with warehouse and delivery teams to ensure timely fulfillment.
• Maintain accurate customer information and sales activity records.
• Provide exceptional customer service before and after the sale.

Qualifications

• Previous inside sales experience within the plumbing, HVAC, electrical, janitorial, or building maintenance supply industry required.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing products and building maintenance materials preferred.
• Experience with quoting, order entry, and inventory management.
• Comfortable making outbound sales calls and developing new business.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and inventory/order management systems.
• Bilingual Spanish is a plus, but not required.

Preferred Background

Candidates with experience from plumbing supply houses, electrical distributors, HVAC distributors, janitorial supply companies, or other building maintenance suppliers are highly encouraged to apply.
