Full job description
Seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced hospital environment. The ideal candidate will have strong critical care expertise, advanced clinical skills, and experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and conscious sedation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients while continuously monitoring their condition.
- Perform detailed patient assessments and recognize changes requiring immediate intervention.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and other treatments according to established protocols.
- Perform IV insertion and phlebotomy while maintaining patient safety and infection-control standards.
- Provide and monitor conscious sedation procedures as required.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, medications, and clinical outcomes.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and support continuity of care.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of Critical Care/ICU experience required.
- 2+ years of Conscious Sedation experience required.
- 2+ years of IV Insertion and Phlebotomy experience required.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited nursing program.
- New York State RN License required.
- AHA BLS and AHA ACLS required.
- Primary Source Verification of RN License and Registration through the New York State Department of Education (NYSED) required.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, communication, and patient-care skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity critical care environment.
Important Details:
- 14-week contract position
- Shift is 11.5 hrs/night (7:00 PM-8:00 AM), 34.5 hrs/week
- Location is Brooklyn, NY 11235
- Pay Rate for Locals: $60 - $65 Hourly
- Pay Rate for Travelers: $2,500 - $2,550 Weekly
