Seeking an experienced Stepdown/Progressive Care RN to provide high-quality care to acutely ill patients in a fast-paced hospital environment. The ideal candidate will have strong cardiac and critical-care skills, including experience with titratable medications, complex drains, chest tubes, and central lines. This travel assignment requires 2 years of Stepdown experience, active IL and/or IA licensure, and the ability to manage a historically high patient volume.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to Stepdown/Progressive Care patients while monitoring changes in condition.
- Manage complex patients requiring telemetry, chest tubes, trachs, CBIs, drains, and central lines.
- Administer and titrate medications including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Milrinone, and other critical-care infusions.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and communicate patient changes promptly.
- Float within the same discipline across designated campuses as needed.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of recent Stepdown/Progressive Care RN experience required.
- At least 1 completed travel assignment preferred.
- Active Iowa and/or Illinois RN license required.
- BLS and ACLS (AHA) required.
- Experience with chest tubes, femstops, trachs, CBIs, drains, and central lines.
- Experience with cardiac medications and titratable infusions required.
- Epic EMR experience preferred/required for the assignment.
- Taxable residence must be more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify as a traveler.
Important Details:
- 13-week contract position
- Shift is 12 hrs/night (6:30 PM-7:00 AM), 36 hrs/week
- Location is Rock Island, IL 61201
- Pay Rate for Locals: $60 - $64 Hourly
- Pay Rate for Travelers: $2,450 - $2,506 Weekly
