# Sales Executive — Bundled UniFi Networking, Security & Access Control

**Nexus Communications Technology | Schaumburg, IL | Full-time | (HQ + Chicagoland field territory)**

**Base salary $75,000–$90,000 + uncapped commission | On-target earnings $140,000–$170,000**

## The opportunity Most commercial buildings still run their network, cameras, and door access as three separate systems from three separate vendors — three support contracts, three finger-pointing help desks, and per-door, per-camera, per-user license renewals forever. Nexus replaces that with one converged UniFi platform: enterprise networking, video security, and access control designed, installed, and managed by a single accountable partner, on a single console, with zero recurring software licensing. Your job is to take that story to market and close it.

## About Nexus Nexus Communications Technology is a Schaumburg-based technology integrator founded in 2016 and one of the most technically capable UniFi integration firms in the Midwest. We design and deliver enterprise-grade UniFi deployments for demanding environments — including healthcare and senior living, where our work spans nurse call integration and converged clinical networks. What we build, we also run: Nexus360, our managed services program, monitors and maintains customer systems from our NOC under contract. You'll sell with real engineering behind you — network design, RF planning, structured cabling, and commissioning are all in-house. ## The platform you'll sell

**UniFi Network — enterprise wired and wireless.**Security gateways with zone-based firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPN; multi-gigabit and 10G PoE switching; and WiFi 7 access points, including clean 6 GHz spectrum for high-density environments. Multi-site customers get built-in SD-WAN (Site Magic) connecting every location under one management plane. Every deployment is engineered — VLAN segmentation, RF design, PoE budgets — not dropped in a closet.

**UniFi Protect — AI video security.** High-resolution cameras with on-device smart detections (people, vehicles, license plates), recorded to local NVRs the customer owns. No per-camera cloud fees, no footage held hostage by a subscription. We engineer storage and retention to each site's requirements, and customers can view every property from a single dashboard.

**UniFi Access — door access control.** Readers supporting NFC cards, PINs, and mobile unlock; visitor management and scheduled access; and SIP video intercoms that ring a front desk, a phone system, or a mobile app. Per-door hardware economics with no per-door software subscription — the line item that makes legacy access-control renewals look indefensible.

**Why the bundle wins.** The incumbent stack — Meraki or Aruba on the network, Verkada or Genetec on cameras, Brivo or Lenel on doors — charges license fees on every AP, every camera, every door, every year, and stops working or loses features when the subscription lapses. UniFi runs local-first with no mandatory licensing, managed from one console. On a five-year total-cost basis the comparison isn't close, and you'll be trained to whiteboard that math in front of a CFO. The conversation shifts from "cheapest installer" to "smartest architecture" — which is where Nexus wins.

**Nexus360 — the recurring layer.** Every project you close is an opportunity to attach a managed services agreement: proactive NOC monitoring and alerting, firmware and security patch management, defined SLAs for response and resolution, and equipment lifecycle planning. This is where your commission accelerators live — you're not just closing projects, you're building a book of recurring revenue that pays you every renewal.

**And the rest of the platform.** Converged customers pull through the rest of what we do: structured cabling plants, IP voice including Microsoft Teams calling integration, nurse call systems for senior living and healthcare, and commercial AV including direct-view LED video walls. You own the account; every one of these is expansion revenue. ## What you'll do - Own the full sales cycle: prospect, qualify, site walk, scope with our engineering team, propose, negotiate, close - Build and work a Chicagoland pipeline in Zoho CRM with disciplined follow-up and accurate forecasting - Sell the converged architecture and the licensing-cost math against legacy alternatives — we'll train you on the platform until you can whiteboard it cold - Attach a Nexus360 managed services agreement to every eligible project - Hand closed projects to project management cleanly, then stay on as account owner for expansions and renewals Typical buyers are owners, facilities directors, and IT leaders at multi-site businesses, senior living and healthcare facilities, schools, warehouses, and professional offices. Deals typically run five to low six figures.

## Who you are - 3+ years of B2B sales in physical security, low-voltage/systems integration, IT or managed services, or telecom — with closed deals you can walk us through - A hunter: you build your own pipeline rather than waiting for leads - Consultative: equally comfortable in front of a facilities director and an IT manager, and able to read a floor plan - Organized: CRM discipline, clean proposals, professional written communication - Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for field territory

**Nice to have:** experience selling Ubiquiti/UniFi, access control or video surveillance (Verkada, Brivo, Genetec, Lenel, Avigilon), or MSP/managed services agreements; an existing book of commercial relationships in Chicagoland; healthcare or senior living vertical experience.

## Compensation and benefits - Base salary $75,000–$90,000, set by experience - Uncapped commission paid on project gross profit, with accelerators on Nexus360 managed services (recurring) agreements — on-target earnings $140,000–$170,000 with no ceiling - Benefits include paid time off, paid holidays, health insurance, and mileage and phone reimbursement for field travel

## Location Based out of our Schaumburg headquarters with regular field travel across Chicagoland. Your week splits between HQ, customer sites, and home office.

## How to apply Email your resume to jmazza@nexusct.com with a short note on the largest multi-system deal you've closed — what it was, how you won it, and what it sold for.
