Senior Field Engineer

Senior Field Engineer | San Jose, CA | $100,000 – $120,000 + Benefits

Renewyx have partnered with a well-established general contractor in San Jose to find a Senior Field Engineer ready to step into a role with real site responsibility and a clear path to Superintendent.

This is a hands-on position for someone who knows their way around a commercial job site, can coordinate trades without hand-holding, and takes quality and safety personally.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲:

You will work directly alongside the Superintendent, interpreting plans and specs, coordinating subcontractors, driving site safety, and tracking daily production. You will own submittal logs, quality checklists, and inspection walks — and you will be building the experience base needed to move into a Superintendent seat.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴:

• 4+ years of field engineering experience in commercial construction

• Solid grasp of construction management, scheduling, estimating, budgets, and procurement

• Comfortable reading and interpreting plans, specs, and contract documents

• Sharp on quality control and site safety — you build the checklists, not just tick them

• Proficiency with Primavera or similar scheduling tools; Viewpoint or comparable PM software

• Strong communicator across subs, supers, and project management teams

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
