Our client, a luxury fragrance and lifestyle brand, is looking for a temporary HR Business Partner. This role will primarily support the company’s New York and Northeast retail locations, while also contributing to corporate HR projects and initiatives.
This assignment starts asap and will last about 5 months, covering a leave.
Location: Midtown
Hours: 9am – 5/5:30pm
*Hybrid schedule
Responsibilities:
- Partner with retail leadership to provide HR guidance and support across New York and Northeast locations.
- Serve as a trusted resource to managers and employees on employee relations, performance management, workplace concerns, and HR policies and practices.
- Build strong relationships with retail teams through regular communication, store visits, and partnership with managers.
- Support the consistent implementation of HR policies, procedures, and best practices while maintaining compliance with applicable employment laws.
- Partner with leadership on performance management processes, including performance reviews, coaching, and employee development.
- Support employee engagement, retention, and culture initiatives across the retail organization.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes as needed.
- Support recruitment and hiring initiatives for retail positions, including leadership and Store Manager-level roles.
- Partner with hiring managers on job descriptions, candidate interviews, offers, and overall hiring processes.
- Support HR reporting, analysis, and other administrative processes in partnership with the broader HR team.
- Travel to and support the company’s two flagship NYC stores as needed.
- Contribute to corporate HR projects and other ad hoc initiatives.
Qualifications
- 2–4+ years of HR experience, ideally within retail, luxury, fashion, beauty, hospitality, or another customer-facing industry.
- Strong Employee Relations experience is required.
- Experience supporting multi-site or retail environments is highly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with an HRIS is required.
- ADP and Workday experience is a major plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of an organization.
- Polished, professional, and highly collaborative approach.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and handle sensitive employee matters with discretion.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Must be comfortable working in a hybrid environment and traveling to NYC retail locations as needed.
