Senior Vice President of Finance Real Estate Investment Platform

Location: Northern NJ

About the Role

A growing real estate investment firm is seeking an experienced Senior Vice President of Finance to join its executive leadership team.


Reporting to the CEO, the SVP will help determine how the company raises, deploys, manages, and returns capital. The role will lead strategic finance, capital-markets activity, investor relations, transaction execution, and portfolio-performance analysis.


The position will also oversee accounting, treasury, tax, reporting, insurance, risk management, and financial controls.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the company’s financial and capital strategy
  • Lead debt and equity capital raising, including lender, investor, and joint-venture relationships
  • Manage investor relations, presentations, due diligence, performance reporting, and ongoing communications
  • Evaluate capital structures, financing alternatives, partnership economics, and risk-adjusted returns
  • Lead financial analysis and execution for acquisitions, dispositions, refinancings, and recapitalizations
  • Oversee investment underwriting, financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence
  • Monitor portfolio performance and identify opportunities to improve returns and capital efficiency
  • Manage debt obligations, lender reporting, covenant compliance, and maturity planning
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, liquidity planning, treasury, and cash management
  • Oversee corporate accounting, property accounting, tax, investor reporting, and financial controls
  • Deliver timely reporting to management, investors, lenders, and other stakeholders
  • Strengthen financial systems, processes, and reporting infrastructure, including Yardi
  • Build and mentor a high-performing finance and accounting team
  • Partner with Acquisitions, Asset Management, Property Management, and Construction


Candidate Profile

  • 10+ years of financial leadership experience within real estate investment, private equity, or property operations
  • Deep expertise in real estate finance, capital markets, debt, and investment analysis
  • Proven experience raising capital and managing investor and lender relationships
  • Strong transaction experience across acquisitions, dispositions, refinancings, and recapitalizations
  • Advanced financial-modeling, underwriting, and portfolio-analysis capabilities
  • Strong leadership, communication, and commercial judgment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • CPA or MBA preferred
  • Yardi experience
