Robert Half is partnering with a growing organization in Beverly Hills to identify an experienced Assistant Controller with a strong background in commercial real estate and property accounting. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting leader who enjoys managing a team, owning the general ledger and close process, and delivering accurate, timely financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and mentor accounting staff, providing leadership, guidance, and performance management
• Manage the general ledger and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records
• Lead the month-end close process, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis
• Prepare and review financial statements and related reporting packages
• Support internal and external reporting requirements
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies
• Partner with leadership on financial analysis and operational reporting
• Assist with process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy across the accounting function
• Support audits and coordinate with external auditors as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and CPA required
• Commercial real estate industry experience required
• Property accounting experience required
• Strong knowledge of general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting
• Prior experience managing accounting staff
• Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Background

• Experience working in a dynamic real estate environment with multiple properties/entities
• Strong understanding of property-level financials, reconciliations, and reporting
• Ability to balance hands-on accounting responsibilities with team leadership
