Assistant Superintendent – Construction

Location: Chicago, IL

A growing Chicago construction and development firm is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support day-to-day field operations on active construction projects.

This is a great opportunity for someone with early-career field experience who wants to gain exposure to the full construction lifecycle and develop into a Superintendent.

Responsibilities

• Support the Superintendent with daily field operations and project scheduling
• Coordinate subcontractors, workforce activity, equipment deliveries, and site logistics
• Track daily jobsite activity and maintain documentation in Procore
• Assist with project meetings, daily reports, and progress documentation
• Conduct jobsite safety orientations and inspections
• Monitor subcontractor safety compliance and communicate potential concerns
• Assist with quality control inspections and verify work meets project requirements
• Coordinate temporary facilities, deliveries, site access, and general jobsite logistics
• Support erosion control, stormwater management, and environmental compliance
• Help maintain a clean, organized, safe, and professional jobsite

What We're Looking For

• 1–3 years of construction industry experience
• 1+ year of construction field experience
• Strong interest in developing a career in field leadership / construction supervision
• Experience with Procore and Microsoft Office
• Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail
• Proactive attitude and willingness to take on additional responsibility
• Degree or certificate in Construction Management or Design
• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
