Full job description

The Superintendent leads day-to-day field operations for commercial construction projects, working closely with the Project Manager to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract documents and DSA requirements. The ideal candidate has strong commercial construction experience and hands-on experience with DSA projects and processes.


Responsibilities

  • Lead daily field operations, subcontractors, and site personnel.
  • Manage project schedules, critical path activities, and three-week lookaheads.
  • Coordinate subcontractors to ensure proper sequencing, quality, and productivity.
  • Review plans, specifications, and scopes to identify constructability issues and potential delays.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager, owner, architect, consultants, and DSA Inspector of Record (IOR).
  • Ensure work complies with approved plans, specifications, codes, safety standards, and DSA requirements.
  • Coordinate inspections, testing, RFIs, submittals, and required project documentation.
  • Monitor manpower, materials, quality, progress, and jobsite safety.
  • Proactively resolve field issues, schedule conflicts, and construction challenges.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, schedules, and site records.
  • Lead punch list and project closeout activities.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
  • Lead and mentor field personnel.


Qualifications

  • 4+ years of commercial construction field supervision experience.
  • Hands-on DSA project experience required.
  • Experience managing large commercial projects and multiple subcontractor scopes.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, drawings, specifications, and building codes.
  • Understanding of DSA inspections, documentation, and closeout requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage schedules and coordinate multiple trades.
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, Autodesk, or Primavera.
  • OSHA 30 or equivalent preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
