Staff Accountant

A well-established and growing real estate/construction-related organization is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This role offers a mix of accounting, accounts payable, project accounting, and financial reporting responsibilities, providing excellent exposure across multiple areas of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage full-cycle accounts payable, including invoice review, coding, data entry, and payment processing
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and vendor issues
• Prepare and process annual 1099 filings
• Maintain vendor records and respond to vendor inquiries
• Prepare construction loan draws and support project financing activities
• Review project budgets, process change orders, and track project-related documentation
• Manage preliminary notices, lien releases, and insurance compliance
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations
• Assist with audits and compliance-related requests
• Prepare journal entries and support general ledger maintenance
• Assist with monthly financial reporting, project financials, and account reconciliations
• Provide administrative and operational support as needed
• Contribute to special projects and other accounting functions that support the organization's continued growth

Qualifications:

✅ 2+ years of accounting and/or accounts payable experience

✅ Experience with construction accounting, project accounting, or loan draws preferred

✅ Knowledge of general accounting principles and procedures

✅ Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

✅ Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines

✅ Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

✅ Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism

✅ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered)
